OS: XP (if I get it installed
CPU/Ram: p4 (2.4ghz), 512 DDR ram
Comment:

Today I just got a brand new Mobo, processor, case, and more ram as part of a package deal at a local comp store.
I got a Shuttle MV43V Mainboard, and a Pentium 2.4. My friend and I followed the boards instruction manual and set up all the jumpers, installed the ram (512mb DDR), and have a new harddrive for it. We turn it on and the fans start spinning (both power supply and CPU) and low and behold....nothing happens other than that. I have a monitor and a keyboard plugged in to it, and nothing comes up on the monitor, just a blank screen, and the monitor stays in standby/no signal mode. Also, with a speaker hooked in there aren't any warning beeps or anything. Anyone have any ideas as to what the problem may be? (My friend and I think that the store possibly sold us a fried mobo)Any help is greatly appreciated.

reset the cmos and see if that helps. I had a mobo at one time that did exactly what you're stating and that's all I had to do. Also, if you have any other cards in there (ie. sound card, ethernet card, etc.) pull all of them out except the video card. Check to ensure the video card is fully seated in the mobo along with the RAM and CPU.

Ditto on the CMOS Batt., I've had the same problem a couple of times.

Also disconnect all the drives. You do not need any drives connected to get a POST beep or display.

I'll check and makesure that the ram and CPU are tight in place, and I'll try removing all drives then clearing the CMOS. Lets hope this works. And thanks for your ideas so far everyone.

I removed everything so all I have is a power supply, Mobo, CPU, and ram. The video is onboard, and sadly when I turned it on, still no more Bios screen. I also tried clearing the CMOS using the jumpers in the manual, but no dice. :(

Just noticed you also said more ram. Remove all but 1 ram chip and see if it works.
