aight so today i got a new mobo
opened box and took it out of the anti static bag and to my surprise guess what was sittin in the bottom of the bag....a capacitor.
will the shop i got it from replace it? im pretty angry about this as im guessing they wont replace it because of pysical damage to the board, i often see that policy in various computer stores.if they dont replace it how hard would this be to fix?
cheers guys

The shop/store *should* exchange it, provided there are no signs that YOU somehow damaged it during installation. If they refuse, you'll have to RMA it to the manufacturer. Do NOT try to repair it yourself or you'll void the warranty.
"And that's the fishing line, because Sharkboy said so!"

i was once given a p4 pc by a friend, they had bought a new one and were chucking out their old one. they had taken out the hard disc, smashed the hard disc to bits with a hammer and then chucked the bits back in the pc case. This had broken off three of the largest capacitors on the mobo. To my suprise all aspects of the PC worked fine (after i put new hard disc in) even though the capacitors were broken off

yeh it will work fine im pretty sure, depending where the capacitor comes from and if i will be using that part. but still wanted to get it replaced.
went in today and they refused to replace it, so i called up their manager and that still got me no where. they wanted to send it away but im not in the mood for waiting a month for a replacement.so i talked to my teacher at tafe in soldering today and he said it should work, if not he showed me how to solder it up so if it affects the pc i will give that ago.
