New Maxtor drive

Has anyone tried the maxblast 4 tools to transfer os to new drive. I dont have to, considering doing it though.

It doesn't transfer the operating system specifically, but it can copy all of the data in a partition from one partition to another partition with no data in it, and a partition that is copied can be the one Windows is installed on and/or was booted from. The copying process is really slow, probably because it is verifying that the data in the destination is the same as the source. You may have to use fixboot afterwards to get a partition that has been copied that has Windows on it to boot, depending on your situation, but other than that it works fine.

Hi, Maxblast transfers all data from the old drive to the new one including all system files and boot files. Use their CLONE function Called COPY a PARTITION etc. They really mean PARTITION or Entire Drive. New drive should be ready to use when Clone is finished. Move it to the old drives position on the IO cable and go. Good Luck, Jim
