Comment:

I got a new laptop from HP.
I recently opened it today.

It's PERFECT except for two things:

-The screen is a bit stretched, due to it being 15.4". My wallpapers look stretched, and the XP Boot screen is ugly and stretched. Other than those problems, the video display is perfect.

-The bottom of the Laptop is pretty warm. Is this normal?

Ok, thanks for your support. As you can see, I'm new to the world of laptops. =)

-Andy

Hi Andy
I recently bought a Compaq Presario, (out of the HP stable) which is vey good.
It is a 15.4" widescreen model.
The resolution is 1280x800
If you find the wallpaper is stretched then just centre it, it may well be that your image will look distorted if it's too big for the desktop.
Bare in mind the volume of space involved when looking at fan space allocated to a laptop, it ain't a tower mate with enough room to swing a kangeroo so it will get hot.
Try either to keep the lappy on a table or some other surface but not on your lap, (laptops = complete misnomer).
If you get any more problems Andy give me a shout at the above A

On a hot summers night would you offer your throat to the Wolf with the Red Roses?

I have a Sony Vaio and it gets HOT
if you must use your lap for your laptop
I suggest you spread your legs :P so that your legs arent entirely under the computer (just the outer edges of the computer) that minimizes the contact points between your legs and the hot computer. This also gives the computer room to breath - taking in some cool air.

Money not an issue?
Where do you live and when are you not home?
I'm not gonna rob you, I'm just gonna steal some stuff

Ahh, I used my laptop for about 4 hours on my desk and the bottom was almost hot to the point where it feels like burning. Does this imply something bad?
