Solved New Laptop Advice Needed

Specs: Windows 7 Ultimate x64, 2.793 GHz / 2047 MB

Hi

I am going to buy a new laptop and need some advice with what should I get. This will be my first laptop and I am currently using a Core 2 Duo custom built PC so I wanted some advice on what should I get.

I have chosen two laptops.

1. DELL Inspiron N5110 (15R)
PRICE: 67000PKR (735 USD)

Prosessor: Intel® Core™ i7-2630QM 2.0Ghz 6MB Cache
RAM: 6GB DDR3
HDD: 640GB 5200RPM
GPU: Nividia GT525M 1GB (Opitimus Switchable Graphics)
Build Quality: Complete plastic and I have heard some bad reviews about the build quality especially the keyboard that it presses down when typing.

2. HP Probook 4530s
PRICE: 65000PKR (713 USD)

Processor: Core i5 2450M 2.5Ghz 3MB Cache
RAM: 4GB DDR3
HDD: 750GB 7200RPM
GPU: AMD 6490M 1GB (ATI Switchable Graphics)
Build Quality: Solid Construction and extremely nice built quality. Reviews about the build quality are all good. No has any problems with the keyboard pressing down.

So which one do you think is better to buy. Price is almost the same for both. HP has the best customer support in Pakistan compared to others because it has its own service centers.

EDIT: And I forgot to mention that the DELL has a Glossy display and the HP has a Anti-glare display both at 1366x768 resolution.

Some day you may be able to buy a computer that will wash your car but if you don't own a car that performance value is worthless to you. You can then ask yourself will they both do what you need? Will they both last? Which is cheaper? In that order. If it is known to be sturdy enough to last twenty years that's great unless it doesn't do what "YOU" need it to do.

Well I don't play games very much but I sometimes do play them. I like Need For Speed series and GTA and Prototype... Not a heavy gamer and I don't demand high resolution and very detailed settings.

The thing which most bothers me is that is the good build quality of the HP really worth the price.

And I forgot to mention that the DELL has a Glossy display and the HP has a Anti-glare display both at 1366x768 resolution.

In General I like Lenovo (once IBM), higher end Toshiba and high end HP or Dell. HP came out with a Dv series with some real duds in it, but they all have them in various lines. Generally anything made for business use is better quality.

Choosing a laptop or any other personal computer can be a tough choice. To confuse you more, google best rated laptops and read the reviews. You can also go by the ratings on a site like Newegg.com. Take into consideration what HopperRox said about a business class machine. Good Luck to you.

well likelystory you just made me change my decision. The Dell can play the games I want to but the HP can't so now I think I should get the Dell rahter then HP. What's the point of having a sturdy laptop if you can't enjoy yourself with the games you like.. thanks for the response.
