Your motherboard may not be capable of handling a drive over 137gb.

Do yourself a favor BACKUP!!!

It was around the time windows XP SP1 came out that motherboards could support hard drives larger then 137gig either out of the box or they were ready via Bios update.

Do you have Windows XP SP1 or later?

Have you tred updating your Bios (that adds support to a hard drive larger then 137gig)?

Your pc isn't too old so there should be a Bios update that adds support for a hard drive larger then 137gigs.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 4400+

Nvidia 7800GT
SATA II 2x 200gig 7200rpm 16mb cache RAID-0

many times the "delayed write failed" error relates to a jumpdrive or removable disk.

If it is for the HD itself and not referring to something else, can you write to the HD itself? It might also help to partition the HD into five 100gig ntfs paritions for the sanity of your BIOS.
