new hdd, not booting right

Specs: Windows Vista
got new hard drive I have put it in my lap top it is a Acer Aspire 5920G I have used Efdisk to format and partition it. I put 2 G of ram in it could the ram being in it make the error "Recovery32" "Type Mismatch"?

"Type Mismatch" means that the file format isn't being recognized. Which file format did you use...FAT32? Read the following, notice what is said in Step 11:

ok the Partions are set as HPFS/NTFS/QNX that is what EFdisk says

Delete all partitioning, then repartition & reformat during the OS installation.
