Solved New HDD does not show in BIOS for restore

July 31, 2011 at 18:01:48
Specs: Windows Vista, AMD phenom X4 9550 Quad Core / 6GB Ram
Ive recently replaced the harddrive in my computer because the previous one started failing. Upon reloading the operating system, the OS comes to the screen that prompts to what hdd/partition to load the OS on to. The hard drive does not show and prompts to install the driver's. The harddrive does not show up in the BIOS, however the old corrupted one DOES show up when i was testing to see if it was the mother board. Ive tried 2 hard drives and replaced the sata cables and tried all 4 sata ports on the mother board. I really want to save this computer, please help =O

Its a windows vista computer with AMD quad core

It could be the controller on the mainboard is bad. If the drive works in another machine, that is probably the issue.
