CPU/Ram: AMD 1Ghz

Please help me.

I want to install a new 60gb HD on my system. I have XP Home installed on the current drive (40gb). I would like to dual-boot 98SE and XP on the new one.

1. Can I install the new HD as the primary and label it drive "D" and move the current HD "C" to a slave?

2. Will I be able to run programs installed on slave drive "C" from their location as their paths start with "C:\" ? I don't want to copy files from old drive to new one, just need to know if I will still be able to run the program from the old drive from their current locations.

3. On the new HD, do I have to have a partition for 98se, XP, and then my files. (EX: D:98SE E:XP F:program and other data). If so, what are good partition sizes. Also, should I partition the 98SE as FAT or FAT32 and the XP partition NTFS. Will 98SE recognize the program file partition if it is formatted as NTFS?

4. Do I need seperate video, sound, etc driver files for each OS? If so, do I install them in their respective partitions?

I underestimated the complexity of this and am starting to think I bit off more than I could chew.

Thanks for takin' the time......

Simple! Always use the fastest HD available for XP. If i were you, I would start OVER AGAIN. Install both HD's, install Windows 98 on drive C:\ then toss in the Windows XP CD and click on "clean install" and install Windows XP to drive D:
Windows XP will create a boot menu for you automatically so when starting up you can choose whether u want to use windows XP or 98. Does not matter if you install 98 on D: and XP on C: You do not need separate hardware.

Can I move the current HD to slave and leave it as drive "C:" and install the new HD and format it as drive "D:"? What I basically want to do is use the new hard drive to install my two OS, but am worried that if I am unable to format the drive as "D:" (or anything other than C:) my old "C:"HD won't be usable and therfore I will lose all the info. (I have about 30 GB on there and it would be difficult to back it up)
