Comment:

I bought a new mouse yesterday. It is a gigaware (RadioShack Brand) travel mouse. It is supposed to be a UPnP device, but when I plugged it into my USB port, I keep getting the found new hardware wizard coming up. So, I told the wizard to search for the driver and it installed a driver (from somewhere?) that made it work. It is not listed as the correct mouse, but rather a generic HID on my device manager, and it is not listed under mouse, keyboard, etc. NOW, every time I turn on my computer, the found new hardware wizard keeps popping up. HOW CAN I STOP THIS as it is such an annoyance? I have already searched for answers and can not find a solution. (Maybe because there is such a simple solution?) Thanks in advance.

Mike

Go to Device Manager and there should be an entry for a device with a yellow exclamation point. If so, highlight the device, select properties, disable device. this should stop the search for drivers. By the way, didn't the mouse come with a disk?
