Hey, i just bought a new computer for $1500 (canadian) can you tell me if i got a good price for the parts?
Intel p4 3.2E
512mb DDR
p4p800E Deluxe
Xchaser case
LG 16x Dvd -/+RW
160 7200RPM GB maxtorI bought those parts and will be combining them with my old parts:
floppy drive
1 20 gig drive
1 6 gig drive
1 Toshiba dvd-rom
and a soundblaster card.

You should've asked before you bought it, not after
Asus A7N8X-X
1800+ @8x210mhz
512mb PC3200
Ti4200/8X 128mb
WDC 60GB

I haven't bought them yet.. i asked a guy to build it for me. i can still change stuff. plz post again!

just go to newegg.com, search for each item that you are getting, add the prices and include shipping charge and then determine if it's a good deal.

1500 is a lot ofmoney for those parts IMO, your mostly paying for the labor looks like
i just put together a system and heres my costs.
nec dvd_rw 3500ag. $70.00 on new-egg
Asus a7n8x-deluxe. $150 i think new-egg
Amd athlon xp 2200. $80 anywheres
Case, radio shack but has 5 case fans, $40
Samsung 160GB hd. $120 i think, new-egg
nvidia geforce 5200, bought last year $140 , BestBuy.
768 MB of ddr ram about $140-ish
So i payed about $500-$550 for a pc i use to do Photoshop and other editing stuff and it runs Doom 3 quite nice.
So, point is, buying namebrand is good if you want a single warranty or dont have the time to build yourself, but i say save youself a thousand dollars, build it yourself and you learn something in the process :)

cpu+$280, ram=$85, dvd=$85, 200g hdd=$132, motherboard=$150, case antec with power supply=$115 all in Canadian dollars from NCIX.
