this is like my third post today but id rather ask people who know a lot more than I do.
I was thinking of selling my current system as it came and keeping everything i added then buying new stuff to fill in. Im going to sell my system as it came from gateway with a 2.4 ghz p4 processor 256mbs of ram case cd/dvd burner drives and hard drive(80GB). Im wondering what would be a good price to sell it at.

Im goiung to be left with
1GB DDR pc 2700 memory
256 Ati radeon x1600 agp card
500w ultra xfinity psu
sound blaster SE

So im thinking i need
a processor w/ fan
motherboard
and hard drive

I like the asrock dual vsta which comes in 939 and 775 but id like some suggestions as to what to get and where to get it

and about selling it i dont mind replacing anything with new stuff(like some cheap crap that sounds good, I live in kentucky so it shouldnt be too hard to pass off). ill hand it over after i get my computer.

And i was also wondering if I can install windows on my next computr without buying a new os and not having any problems

I was gonna reply to your other post, then this one popped up.

Looking at the parts you wanna reuse...

-the RAM's gotta go. You really should have PC3200 & if you get into a Core 2 system like you asked about in your other thread, you'll need to get DDR2 RAM.

- the video card should go too, otherwise you'll be locking yourself into an older system that still supports AGP. And I don't recommend the "asrock dual vsta" boards

- the 500W Ultra xfinity PSU might not cut it on a new system either. If I'm not mistaken, it only has a 20-pin main plug?? New boards require 24-pin

Probably about $100 for the old system as it came, if you're lucky AND maybe a bit more if it comes with the OS/Restore CD.
