New assembled PC not starting!!

September 18, 2009 at 08:25:06
Specs: Windows Vista
I recently assembled a rig with the following
AMD Athlon X2 250 @ 3.0 Ghz
MSI 785GM-E65
3GB DDR3 at 1333Mhz
ATI HD 4650 graphics
450W power supply (the one that came with
the cabinet)
Viewsonic 19-inch widescreen

My problem is that when I turn on the power
only the keyboard lights blink up for a second
and then go off. The monitor shows "NO
DISPLAY-ANALOG". The motherboard light
remains on which indicates that the mobo is
getting power. The processor fan and the
power supply fan run perfectly. I checked the
voltages in the molex connectors and they are
perfect 5 and 12 volts respectively. I have no
idea where lies the problem. I checked and
rechecked all the cables and they all are fine.
This has never happened with me before, and I
am no noob. I even tried removing any possible
connected device (HDD, graphics, CD/DVD,
USB connecters, etc), but the thing just wont
What could be the possible problem? Any help
would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
