new 22' monitor...HELP Please!

I just bought a new 22' Envision monitor. I am legally blind and I know the larger screen will really help! My problem is the print is not clear enough. My resolution only goes to 1260? I think? I was told to try to update my graphics card and if that doesn't help buy a new graphics card. How do I update my Graphics card? Other info you may need is VIA/S3G UNICHROME IGP? Help please! Thanks.
