Network printers problem (Vista & Win7 side)

Specs: Windows 7

I am having trouble using network printers in my home office. I have 4 computers:

One running XP 32bit with two network printers installed and working fine (HP LaserJet 2600n & Brother HL-5050)

The next computer has just had Windows 7 64bit installed on it - I cannot get either printers working on this computer via the network (both were working fine on here last week before the upgrade when I was using Vista 32bit)

The next computer is brand new, with Vista 64bit, I have been unable to get both printers working on here.

The final computer is ready to be scrapped, but both printers are working fine, this has XP.

For the HP printer I have the drivers disk, if I try to use it, when I select network printer, the installer says it cannot detect any devices.
If I go in via mycomputer -> network, and select the computer the printers are shared on, I can see both printers in the shared folder, If I try connecting this way - I get the error message no drivers found.
I have changed the Workgroup so they are the same name for both computers.

I have lost the disk for the brother printer, however downloaded the drivers on both the Vista / W7 computers, these still do not let me detect the printer.

Any ideas??? As these shared printers were working fine on the old computer and before the W7 install!!! :(

Would there be an issure sharing printers from a 32bit computer with 64bit computers?

"Windows 7 64bit installed on it"

Did you download the 32bit driver or the 64bit driver?

no I have tried downloading the 64bit drivers for both, but it asks me to to plug in the printer to the usb, and doesn't give me the option of searching on the network.

Add the printer Manually then when it asks for the Drive Choose Have disk and browse for where you saved the driver.

Thanks, I've just tried this for the HP printer on the Windows 7 64bit computer and it worked.

However still having trouble with the Brother printer and this method, downloaded all components from brother

- but nothing, although non of these actually look like drivers? Any ideas for this one?

Will test this method on the 64bit Vista computer later
