Network adapter help

Specs: Windows XP
I need a new computer. I have to make choices and don't know what some are. If I have verizon broadband, (not using land line) I don't need a modem, right? But I need a network adapter? My choice is "ON Board 10/100//1000 network card" Is this OK? I am customizing a desktop and don't need wireless.

If you're going to use Verizon Broadband, you still need a land line. You don't need a modem in your computer if you're not using dial up. All motherboards have a built in NIC. This is what you would use to connect to the verizon modem they will supply.
