Anyone have any experience with the netgear WGT624 V2 108mbps wireless router. I purchased this router about 3 weeks ago to replace my two year old motorola wireless router. It was the worse thing I ever did. I have voice over IP telephone service through my cable company which comes through my cable modem. Everytime I make or pick up an incoming call all my computers get knocked off the internet. Even the one hardwired to the router.

I contacted netgear and they told me to disconnect all cordless phones. I did that and the problem of course at the time did not duplicate. After using a wired phone i was disconnected again. They had me alter the MTU's as well and that didn't make any difference.

Does anyone has any experience with this router and how I maybe able to fix the problem.

The firmware was also automatically updated when first setting it up.

Thanks

Something doesn't add up here. I could see this possibly happening if you had DSL but since you computer/router isn't even connected to a phone line it doesn't make sense.

What is the frequesncy of your cordless phone?

I have voice over IP. It's provided by my cable company along with the high speed. It's called Optimum online and Optimum voice. My home phone connects to the back of my cable modem. My cordless phones are 2.4 but I had disconnected them and used a wired phone and it still happened.

Phone lines do not connect to a cable modem. Are you sure you don't have DSL?

No I don't have DSL. I am postive. It's a new service that the cable company in New york and surrounding states have been offering for about a year now. It's a Motorola voice over IP cable modem. Both telephone and internet come through the same modem. take a look www.optimumvoice.com
