Hi, I am having a strange problem with my Acer Aspire One netbook.

I set the screen resolution to its maximum which is 1024x600 (60Hz Hi32 bit, winxp pro, Admin account). It will stay this way and work just fine but as soon as I log off or restart the netbook it will automatically change back to 800x600.

The resolution is fine at the Windows XP Welcome Screen too (switch-user screen) when I am trying to log in. However, once my account loads up, the screen automatically refreshes itself and changes the resolution setting to 800x600.

All drivers/windows updates are current. I'v ran Spybot search and destroy, CCleaner, Eset, Nod32 Antivirus, everything is clear. No games installed or previously played.

I do connect the netbook to my 42" Toshiba LCD Tv which can take the pc resolution of 800x600, could this be the problem in any way?

If any more info is required please advise.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You in advance.

I think you have already identified the problem. Your graphics shipset may not be able to use different resolutions for each display. When going to the axternal, which requires the lower resolution your internal resolution is automatically reset.

Not sure if there is a way around that or not. Consult your manual.
