I've got a young (<6 month old) Acer Aspire One netbook that won't boot. Even plugged into the wall, it doesn't even show the BOOT screen, the screen is totally turned off, only all leads is turned on when i press the power button, then totally nothing, i was told that i should remove the RAM then press the power button for 30 seconds two time then install the ram again, and it will work, but i can't find even where is the RAM in acer aspire one netbook

is the computer under warranty. I would go that way first because you have to remove everything to get to the ram. It's a pain in the but. The keyboard and mother board have to be removed. Also i believe the ram is built into the board and can't be removed. Only 1 stick can be removed

Why would reseating the RAM allow the netbook to boot? Take it back...I'm sure it's still under warranty.

I'm pretty sure opening up the laptop is going to void the warrenty.
A Dell tech told me to open a new Dell once. I told her,"Yeah, that's going to void the warrenty isn't it."
She said "yes"
To which i replied, "Well then why would you tell me to do that?"
She couldn't give an answer.
Don't listen to Tier 1 phone support take it to a shop. The first thing i would check on it if you can is hooking it up to a monitor and seeing if it's just the screen (screen can be replaced).
