Specs: Windows 7
I have an ASUS SABERTOOTH 990FX R2.0 AM3+ AMD 990FX SATA 6Gb/s USB 3.0 ATX AMD Motherboard with a AMD FX-8150 8-Core Black Edition Processor Socket AM3+ . What is the best video card I can get for say 400.00? I like the Gigabyte AMD Radeon HD 7970 OC 3GB GDDR5 DVI-I/HDMI/2x Mini-Displayport PCI-E 3.0 Graphics Card GV-R797OC-3GD but it is pci-e 3.0 while the aSUS board is pci-e 2.0

The PCI slot is backwards compatible so you don't have to worry about that if that's whats stopping you from buying it. Only thing that will happen that it won't run as fast as it should, but even if you did put it into a 2.0 and not a 3.0 you really won't see a difference or the difference won't even be that much of a problem. And the graphics card you have picked is probably the best at it's price range.
