Subject: Need to install OS but no video OS: NA CPU/Ram: Athlon XP 2200/256 MB

Comment: Ok, I just got a computer that I ordered from Compubuzz.com. I hooked it up, to install XP on it. When I turn it on, I get no video on my monitor. I hear no beeps whatsoever and my keyboard lights (caps lock, num lock, etc) blink, but if I try to enable caps lock, the keyboard does not work. The system is a 2200 Athlon XP with a Syntax SV266A..(not exactly sure about the full name as I am not with the computer) 256 mb ram. I am using a Jaton GeForce 4 64mb video card. Any ideas what may be going on here? They build the system and supposedly tested it before shipping. Thanks Quinton

Reply: (edit)Do you hear the fans turn on or the hard drive start spinning? Do the keyboard lights blink on and off just once? If this is the case you might have bad power supply.

Reply: (edit)Try reseating all cards, memory, and cables. Take care with static, dicharge yourself before reaching in. Question, how did they test the whole system without an OS?
