hi all.
i have a pavilion dv5000 laptop.. which is running now 1gb ddr 333 RAM. well here:
1.) Can i put 400mhz on it?

2.) what happens if i ll leave 1stick of 1gb 333mhz and will add 1stick of 400mhz?? (2gb of total ram)

3.) and the last :P
will it affect my systems stability? ( iknow that my MB supports 333 but i heard somewhere that it is possible to put 400mhz with 333 and the 400mhz will run as 333.. is it true?

sorry for my bad english..
thanks

The DDR333 is unable to run at DDR400 speed (200MHz), therefore the DDR400 will be "forced" to run at DDR333 speed (166MHz).

I never understood why manufacturer's put DDR333 RAM with a Turion 64 in the 1st place...it really should be DDR400.

What is it that you're using your notebook that makes you feel you need more than 1GB RAM?

thnx for the flash answers :)

i am running photoshop& dream at the same time with couple of programs.

So that means that i can mix 1stick of 400mhz RAM and 1stick of 333mhz ram, right? but the 400 will work as 333..

and there will be no failures?

I just noticed that you're triple booting with Vista? That explains the need for more RAM...lol

I can't guarantee that there will be "no failures", but it *should* work.

You should check with Crucial.com. Theorically the 400 should work but some laptops are fussy.
