Hello everyone, I know this has been discussed in detail all over the net but I would like some honest answers from proper users please :)

I am currently using Windows 7 Home Premium on my home PC and Laptop and to be honest with you I'm getting pretty annoyed with it. My current problem is with my mapped drives.

I am playing with the idea of scrapping MS and going for Linux. But I know next to nothing about Linux so I would very much like your opinions/pros/cons on it please?

I may dual load Windows and Linux if there is a major problems with compatibility.

Thank you all very much

I know nothing about mapping drive with any build of Linux so I can't respond to that other than to say the general consensus is that Linux is not as user friendly as Windows.

Now, what is your issue with mapped drives in Windows 7?

OtheHill, thanks very much for your reply. That's pretty much the general opinion I am getting :)

Regarding the ,mapping issue, I posted the problem over at Networking.
Basically I have Win 7 Home Premuim and I have mapped a NAS drive to it. I have created a script/batch and placed it in startup. I have also unchecked the box that asks to put the NIC to sleep.

However every time the PC or Laptop (which are both connected to the NAS through my BB router) goes to sleep it forgets the mapped NAS when it wakes up and I have to remap it.

It's not a massive issue but it gets annoying when I forget to remap it and I lose the drive.

Thank you again
