need new monitor......suggestions?

Hi, i am looking to buy a 17" LCD monitor. I do quite a bit of gaming, and my budget is around US$250.
Can anyone suggest any models? Also, what is a good monitor speed for gaming?

My son got a Viewsonic VX724 monitor - 4ms response (for gaming) & a nice bit of kit - it should be about $250 if you shop around.

If your worried about $$$$$4 anything with a response time 12 or under should be fine. The only thing is that i have read that most companies grading's of response times vary and not to trust them. The best way is to go and look at some instore if you can.
