Hey i was looking at new mobos for my new comp and i came accross the a7n8x and the a7v8s. I really cant see the difference between the two except for the price,. They both support 8x agp so is the a7v8x a better buy?

shoot sorry in the orriginal post i had sum typos!! i mean whats the diffrence between the a7V8x-x and the a7N8x. Is there any difference in performance or does the a7n8x just have more features like the sound?
Sorry!!

I cannot comment on the A7N8X motherboard,
my system is using the A7V8X, the motherboard is running perfect had no problem with it at all. It operated perfect from the very start. Had no difficulty installing windows XP and all associated
system drivers and device drivers. With ambient room temperature at 71F, CPU temp 44C/111F, motherboard temp 33C/91F. Asus provides great phone support. (A great motherboard)
Asus A7V8X Motherboard
Antec SX835II MID Towr 8 Bay ATX 350 PS
Amd XP 2400 Retail
Crucial 512 DDR (2700)
ATI Radeon 9500 AGP 8X DDR DVI/CRT/TV
80gb ATA100 IBM Deskstar 7200 RPM
80gb Seagate serial Barracuda 7200 RPM
Creative Sound Blaster Audigy
LG DVD-ROM(16x48x) Drive
I/O Magic 52X24X52 CDRW

The biggest difference between those two boards is the chipset--the A7V8X uses VIA's KT400, and the A7N8X uses Nvidia's nForce2 chipset. The two largest differences between the chipsets is that the nForce2 supports a 400MHz FSB for the newest Bartons and has Dual Channel memory capability--basically two memory controllers that can deliver some great bandwidth. In my experience the nForce2 is a little less picky about the quality of your memory as well.
They're both good, stable performers, but I'd lean towards the A7N8X or Microstar's K7N2 Delta-ILSR if you have to have the "latest and greatest" tech.

thanks guys i think ill go with the a7v8x-x ill save 50 bucks and can put that extra money into a better cpu
