Specs: Windows 7 & XP, 4gb
I was told that I need a wireless adaptor for my laptop. It will not connect to the internet via wireless modem. It has been tried on a couple of different wireless modems but will not connect.
could someone enlighten me about this adapter? I have built several desktops but do not have any experience with laptops. Can I replace this? Please be patient!!

Are you sure its not just a driver problem or maybe its not enabled on your laptop (usually a button or keystroke)
Having said that you can get a wireless adaptor from Amazon or ebay (anywhere computer related really) for around £5-£10

buttons and keystrokes have been tried to no avail.
What is the name of the adapter if I tried to find one on the internet?

Hi Landon,

a good starting point is you providing the make *AND* model of your laptop.

If it is not wireless enabled, here in the UK, you can purchase a usb wireless dongle for around £5 - 6, from ebay or Amazon.

You install the drivers that come with it, *THEN* plug it in.

This will allow connection to a wireless router or similar.

Another method is a dongle from a mobile phone company, but this method can be restrictive and expensive as there are download limits which if exceeded increase costs.

Please advise back on progress.

Good Luck - Keep us posted.
