Comment: got a lexmark laser printer model 10L series 4029 anybody know anything about them..... tried to turn it on but nothing......got the drivers and all for it hubby wants to know does it have to be attached to the computer to turn on and told him i didnt think it did......does anyone know where we can find a manual for it or possibly what could be wrong with it........ thanks Liz

Reply: (edit)Your printer was manufactured by IBM. You may be able to find a manual for it from the IBM web site -- and also try, of course, Lexmark. No, the printer should power up whether or not it is attached to a computer. Are you saying that it does absolutely nothing when powered on? If so, you might consider buying a new printer since the cost of repair will be significant. A new printer, aside from being new, will be reliable and faster -- and laser printers have come down in price considerably over the past few years.

Reply: (edit)If it turns on. You should be able to print a test page without connecting a computer. In fact there should be several, including list of fonts. If it doesn't turn check that the toner cartridge is properly inserted and the cover is closed and latched.
