Comment: I just bought myself a Winfast TV Pro 2000 Expert so I can watch TV and capture stuff on my computer. I haven't hooked it all up yet, but after reading the manual, I seem to be having a dilemma. I use on-board sound of my MSI K7N2 Delta-L mobo. And there is a audio in cable that is suppose to connect the TV Card with the sound card AUX IN. Where should I put this since I don't use a sound card? There is a Audio IN on my MOBO but it is connected to my DVD-ROM coz I watch DVDs on my computer also. So what should I do? Am I stuck in a case of one or the other? Please advise.

Reply: (edit)Your possible inputs, line input, aux input, and microphone input (preferably with an attenuator cable). The aux maybe on the motherboard. With some sound cards, line input and microphone share the same connector and is selected by a jumper.

Reply: (edit)Splice the cable that goes from your cd rom sound to motherboard and join the tv card sound wire (after splicing) and insulate it with insulating tape , you will then get sound from the tv card. I have used this technique with that particular tv card on someones computer with simular problem, and it works.

Reply: (edit)I would prefer to try an alternate connection. Splicing into the DVD audio connection may degrade it. Your mobo has a line in connection, which is available unless you have enabled multichannel sound.

Reply: (edit)In some circumstances you have to adapt to the situation, it's splice or read lips. I found no problem with degridation of sound or video using this method. One other thing you could try if you had a sound in connection at the rear of the computer, is soldering a phone plug on the tv card sound in lead and connect to the rear (sound in )on your pc. I know it is a crude way to get the problem sorted but it's better than the situation you have at the moment.
