Need Help Findin CPu Work With Motherboard

Specs: Windows Xp Professional, 2gb
Hello i will like to know if there a way to upgrade my CPU here my Computer Spec

im asking this forum bc im not so good with cpu and how it works and how can you tell if it works with your motherboard/handle it well here my specs

Processor AMD Athlon(Tm) 64 Processor 2800+, MMX, 3D Now, ~1.8GHz

Memory:2G Ram

Page File:1551MB used, 2135 availabe

DirectX Version


All im askin if it possible to upgrade my Cpu with a Dual Core and if you can direct me to a cpu that i can buy thnx alot everyone that give a opinion also my computer is 6 Years old all i wanna upgrade is my Cpu so Thnx Everyone if you Help me

There is no possibility of putting a dual core CPU into that motherboard.

From the manual:

Supports 64-bit AMD K8 Athlon 64/ Sempron processor (Socket 754).
Supports 3700+ or higher CPU.

It's the Socket 754 that is the important bit.

The only upgrade you could do is a faster CPU of the same type, that is if you can find one and it wont improve the performance all that much.

As Stuart stated, there are no dual core CPUs available for the S754. The 1st thing you need to do is look at the CPU support list, but you will need the proper model number & board version. The MS-7181 is actually the K8MM3-V, but there were a couple of different versions:

Figure out which one you have, then check the support list. The AMD Turion 64 ML44 or Athlon 64 3200+ (E6 Venice) are probably as good as it gets. Of course, you can always just overclock what you have. The 2800+ should be able to run at 2.0 - 2.25GHz if you know how to configure it.
