Specs: Windows 7
my sound doesn't work for my hp pavilion slimlene. It will work if I plug in external speakers. my husband recently allowed someone to install a poer supply, and now my speakers won't work. i'm assuming he didn't plug something back in properly, but I am not computer savy enough or have any wiring diagrams to see where the problem may lie. any suggestions?

You said the sound doesn't work, then you say it will work if you plug in external speakers? Which is it? You can't have sound without speakers.

The power supply has nothing to do with the sound. If the speakers were unplugged while the power supply was replaced, they may have been replugged into the wrong audio port after the work was done. Usually the audio-out port is green.

You post would make more sense if you had a computer with internal speakers. The only computers I have ever seen with internal speakers have been laptops. As this is a desktop, external speakers plugged into the sound card are essential.

Take it back to the person that messed it up?

I assume you mean an internal speaker. They usually are labeled both on the connector and the jack on the motherboard. You only need good eyesight to figure it out along with a guess as to what the abbreviation is. They don't just say speaker they say something like s/w or spk or spkr or such.
