They're both garbage when it comes to gaming. The following site breaks the graphics down into 5 performance classes, with class 1 being best & class 5 being worst. Both the X3100 & X1270 fall into class 5:

I can't give you the info but I can tell you a bit about my radeon xpress 1150 graphics in my laptop.
using 3dmark 2001 benchmark its about the same as a Geforce 2 GTS.
Although some places mention it has 'up to 256mb' graphics, on my laptop it has 64mb. This can not be varied in the bios. HP have fixed it so that if you have less than 1gb ram it is fixed at 64mb, and if you have 1gb or more ram it is 128mb.
I have 768mb ram so the graphics is 64mb. DXDIAG shows it at 256mb but this is something to do with it borrowing a bit more memory as and when. It's a bit like the Intel 810/815 integrated graphics on PCs in the pentium3 days that were really about 4mb graphics memory but said 32mb in DXDIAG if you loaded the Intel drivers instaed of using the inbuilt Xp drivers
