chances are you won't find a bios update for that board to support that drive. But, you could use a disk manager software that would fool the bios into thinking that a smaller drive is connected, yet still have access to the full capacity of the drive.

If however, you are determined to find an update, you would need to find out the manufacturer of the motherboard, model number and revision if applicable. From there, you could go to the makers website, and see if there's an update, which in my opinion, you would be wasting your time. Sounds like you have an old board, and the manufacturers usually stop putting out a bios for a board when they are 2+yrs old.

there are all sorts of disk manager programs. Ontrack makes one, maxtor, seagate, western digital all have one to use that you can download but they are specifically for their drives. Check the manufacture site for your drive, and see what they have to offer. With the release of fat32, you no longer have to have multi partitions on the drives that big. If you only want one partition, that's all you have to have. I have some links for disk manager software for different makers...

Western Digital Data Life Guard Tools
Maxtor MaxBlast II
Seagate Disc Wizard Software
OnTrack DiskGo for Fujitsu Drives

There are quite a few makers of drives, but these are the most common. I would include a link for quantum drives, but they are now supported by IBM. Hope this helps.
