I keep getting a BSOD of "IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL_TO", or "PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_MEMORY"... something along those lines when I try to boot up my computer with a completely clean half-installation (never did get to the part where Windows adjusted the time, asked for the serial key, etc etc) of Win XP Pro...
this happens at very predictable times, like before I got to the Settings part of the WinXP Installation
this leads me to believe that it must be a Hardware or BIOS problem... to isolate the problem, i have tried installing alternate RAM, alt harddisk, alt AGP graphic card, removed all PCI cards, to no avail... my PC is basically stripped to a skeleton and it still BSODs!
The only things that i didnt do was reflash my BIOS to an earlier version, and fiddle with my IDE CD Burner.
Can anyone offer me a solution or at least other possibilities? I'm at my wits' end here. thank you
aa

Hi,
Could you try clearing the bios (CMOS) using a jumper on you motherboard?Mark
AMD Athlon 64 3500+ sct 939
Gigabyte K8NXP-SlI
7900 GT 512mb
1GB Kingston value ram 3200
Audigy 2 ZS
200GB Maxtor SATA HDD
500W Seasonic PSU

It seems like the only suspects left are the CD drive, power supply and motherboard.
I hope you were careful to note any changes in symptoms after replacing the parts that you did.
Do yourself a favor BACKUP!
