Hi all, My friend who is not very computer literate has "inherited" an older pc from her daughter. It's an old Pentium 120 mhz running Win 95. She also has a parallel port printer(Brother HL 1020)and parallel port scanner(HP Scanjet 5100C)and she would really like to use the scanner for geneology, etc. There is only one parallel port on the motherboard and I can't see any way I can daisy chain them together. I first thought of some sort of parallel to USB adapter and USB addin card but then I remembered that Win 95 doesn't do USB. What's the best way, given the hardware, to get both the printer and scanner working? Is there such a beast as a serial port addin card? She is probably not be willing to buy anything more than an addin card:) Tia for any advice. Gary

Scanner SHOULD have a PRINTER connection on the back, you plug scanner into computer, printer into scanner. WAY HEY!

If not, you can buy a switch that has two inputs and one output on it. The output connects to the computer, and the inputs connect to the scanner and the printer. You might still need to flip a switch to change which one is active though.
