Specs: Windows 7 Pro, 4gb ddr2
Hi,

I have a question and hope you can help me.

I am running the ASUS P5KC motherboard.
After a format and install of 2 new 1.5TB hard drives last night and getting everything installed my video card (Nvidia 8600GT card) fried itself. I hate the smell of something burning!!

I am running 32bit Win 7, with 4gb DDR2. I am hoping it was just a coincidence (2.5 yrs old) that it happened?

So I have to purchase any brand of new video graphics card and was wondering what you recommend? I am happy to upgrade the card as long as it is compatible with both the P5KC motherboard and Win 7.

Thanks in advance from a newbie.
Troy

u didn't list the psu specs, nvidia 9800gt, hd 5670, 9600gt, 240gt with gddr5, or hd 4670. The cards listed use low power (even 9800/9600gt which require additional power direct from psu).

Looks like it's a multi-rail design with 4 or 5 +12V rails @18amp each
