|Do you have an external mouse you could try in the system? If that works, it's likely an issue with your touchpad driver. But you could also test it out in safe mode, if the problem goes away there then I'd say a backup then Windows reinstall is in order. |
After that, it's likely hardware related and you'll need to get the touchpad replaced. This is not for the inexperienced and you should likely pay someone else to do it because the work is both delicate and frustrating. If the touchpad is soldered/integrated to the motherboard then you'll need to replace the motherboard.
