Toshiba Satellite l655d-s5055 notebook

Specs: Windows XP
My computer fell and now the screen is on the fritz. I originally thought the screen was damaged, as the pictures were fuzzy and the screen itself became very pale, but the toshiba b. board says that the screen is fine, its the hard disk drive that has failed. The computer makes a clicking sound. It still turns on and i can do work on it but it is getting fuzzier as time passes. What can I do?

The hard drive may well be damaged and failing but I don't think that would cause the video symptoms you are seeing.

What is "the toshiba b. board"?

If you have any personal files you need to save I recommend you immediately make copies on some external media.

Also, if your laptop did NOT come with any restore disks you should attempt to create them now.

As far as repairing the laptop I recommend you contact an authorized Toshiba repair center for an evaluation.
