I have a Thinkpad pentium 2. I am runny windows XP. I am trying to dail up with aol. But my computer keeps reporting an error with modem not responding. To be exact message reads as:

MWME001:MODEM INTERNAL ERRORPRIMARY CODE:2(0X00020
SECONDARY CODE:24(0X0018)
FILE:MWMSPCFC.C

Then it asked me if i wanted to restart or shutdown my modem. I hit restart but nothing happened, same with shutdown.If there is anyone who can help me out with this cituation, please HELP! I truly would appreciate it. I just got the laptop as a gift and it isn't letting me connect.
p.s. when i first tried to connect to the internet, it allowed me to do so. but then i got disconnected and wasn't able to reconnect.

This error will occur if your modem is incorrectly configured, possibly as a result of installing or upgrading software.
To resolve this issue:
1. Use Regedit.exe to navigate to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Telephony\Locations.
2. Delete the NumEntries Value Name.
3. Press Yes to confirm the deletion.
4. Exit the Registry Editor.
5. Shutdown and restart your computer.
