my SATA drive is not accessible

after a reboot yesterday, i was unable to access my SATA drive.
i use a IDE hard drive as primary and the SATA is secondry. i am able to go in to windows but when i try to access my SATA it says "D:/ is not accessible. the file or directory is corrupted and unreadable.
can any one please help me with this, i really dont want to lose my files.

Need more specs on your complete computer. Motherboard, processor, hard drive sizes, version on WinXP (what service packs too).

If it comes to it, here are a couple of file recovery programs that you can try:

PC Inspector (freeware)

Zero assumption Recovery
http://www.z-a-recovery.com
The demo is limited
It will only recover 'up to' four folders per run
But you can make multiple runs
