you have an amd cpu the 1300 means that you can overclock it to that much but usually it is below that number. i have a 1800 and it is really 1.4 mhz.

Apart from Overclocking issues.

In the System Properties, is this being reported as an AMD 1300+, and with 952MHz?

Or as a lesser model [952MHz as you inicate above].

If it is not reported correctly as an AMD1300+, then you need to set the CPU clock speed in BIOS to match the requirements of this CPU: check with the Manual as to how to do this.

There is no 1300+...you probably have a 1.3Ghz Duron. I don't think there was a 1.3Ghz Athlon T-bird, but there was a 1.33Ghz model.

My guess would be that your FSB is set wrong. If you have a 1.3 Duron, your multiplier would be 13x...if you divide 952/13 you get 73.2 FSB. If you have a 1.33 T-bird, your multiplier would be 10x. 952/10 gives you 95.2 FSB. So it appears that your FSB is set at either 75 or 95 mhz, rather than 100 (Duron) or 133 (T-bird).

You sure you don't have a PC Chips 810 Rev 7.1 C or an ECS K7SEM with the soldered on Duron XP1200+ cos that is what it sounds like to me.

But the Duron XP1200+ is supposed to run at 850mhz...could it possibly be this mobo/CPU but overclocked with a 112 FSB?

I was mistaken before about the 1.3ghz Athlon (reply # 3). If your CPU is the Athlon 1.3 & not the Athlon 1.33, your multiplier should be locked at 13x & your FSB should be set at 100. However, if for some reason your multiplier is unlocked, you can experiment with the settings a little.

It seems as if your board is set at 8.5 x 112 FSB = 952mhz?

Without knowing what board you have & what type of memory (PC100 or PC133), it's difficult to tell you what you can do with it. 13 x 100 FSB is correct setting for a 1.3 Athlon. But you could try, 10 x 133 FSB if you have PC133 memory & the ability to raise your FSB that high.
