Is your computer a laptop or desktop type? What type of files are filling up the drive? If you have lots of music, photos, movies, etc. you could offload them onto optical media such as DVDR or CDR. You can also get a USB external hard drive. If a desktop, you could add a second hard drive. One thing you should be aware of is that all hardware is subject to failure, damage, theft, etc. So you should always maintain at least two copies of any data you wish to keep. Personal files like photos are particularly vulnerable as they are not usually replaceable. Burn them to optical disk.

If this is a netbook with a SSD storage device it was never intended to hold lots of data.
