Hi,
I have a 300w power supply. My cpu has a little bit of dust in it, but i dont want to touch because i'd have to remove the fan and i am completely inexperienced in that.

The problem is that it's the second powersupply that my computer breaks... The power goes down automatically and can't open the computer again, i got to buy a new Powersupply... This happens when i'm running games and hard to run programs and the fans turn really fast....

WHAT IS THE PROB :( :( is it the powersupply(more watts?)? the fans? the cpu?

THANKS IN ADVANCE!!

P-il

How about listing the specs of the last PSU you bought? Make/model, wattage, number of +12v rails & amperage on each, etc. And if you're spending less than $50 on a PSU, I can make a pretty good guess as to why you're having problems.

hi,

jam is right. chinese/korean PSUs are paper ships.
You should also keep an eye on the dust at your cpu fan and clean it in time before it stops because that can cause a reall headache.
Good Luck

Linux is basically a very simple Operating System, but you have to be a genius to understand its simplicity. http://www.cyberscout.net/

You MUST get brand name PSU. Antec, Enermax, Ultra are three good brands. Don't get anything cheap. Not worth the trouble and risk of burning out your computer. The power supply is the most important component in your computer for reliablity and the one that is MOST SKIMPED ON. You can't build a house on a shoddy foundation.

This is actually the trouble with many production PCs--CHEAP UNDERPOWERED POWERSUPPLIES. It gets worse with cheap "custom" pcs--cheap $10 chinese crap.

They WANT it to fail--more $$$ in service calls and new purchases.
