My PC restarts a minute after booting up

Specs: Windows XP

My PC restarts about a minute or so after booting Windows XP. I tried to do a system restore, but as I start to navigate my way there, it just restarts. No BSOD (blue screen), nothing! It gives me and error message that "Windows has recovered from a serious error", and then it reboots again. I know it can't be overheating, cause when I enter the BIOS and leave the PC for a while, nothing happens. I have 2Gb of RAM (4 sticks of 512mb's) and a 2Ghz CPU (AMD Athlon 3200+ ). Oh, and when Windows is loading, it takes a really long time, but I think it is because of the error...

Boot into safe mode and then run the system file checker through the Command Prompt. You do this by typing sfc /scannow once you get to the MS-DOS looking prompt.

why not uncheck automatically restart and then post the exact error that comes up when it blue screens?

Already tried that, but as it starts up, it just reboots again without any warning
