OS: xp pro
CPU/Ram: Pentium 4 1gb
Product: Lacie / 80 GB PORSCHE DESIGN
Comment:

I recently reinstalled Windows on my PC, my
Lacie drive was working fine as Drive "F" I
have 2 External Drives which have both always
worked fine together, but when I reinstalled
Windows I plugged my other Hard Drive back in
first and it took over the letter "F" Drive
and the Lacie drive wasn't showing up. Having
that being said I reassigned the other drive
to "H" freeing up "F" for my Lacie drive, but
now when I plug in the lacie all that happens
is the computer says found new hardware and
recognizes it completely, but I have no
access to it. It's not listed in My Computer
but it is shown in device management and I
can safely remove it but I would really like
to be able to use it again. This is my first
post and any help will be greatly
appreciated.

Go into Disk Management and see if you can assign drive letter F to the device.

I have found the 'Drive letter changing' routines to be kinda flakey. Sometimes I have had to reboot several times before it gets it's act together
