My pc does not recognize the CD/DVD drive.

Specs: Windows 7
I have an Acer Aspire 1391x which does not recognize my cd/rom drive. I used it about 3 weeks ago to load my camera software, then it just disappeared. When I checked the hardware, it showed an exclamation point and when I tried to troubleshoot, it said it was up to date.

Seems like you're asking about this all over the internet. How about posting the correct model number for your system? What type of drive is it - SATA, IDE or USB? Did you try going to Device Manager, uninstall the the drive, then reboot & let it reinstall?

I'm not sure I know what you mean when you refer to "all over the internet"? Anyways, I did what you said, reloaded the cdrom device and it still shows an error message, it's not on my computer so it goes something like "a driver (server) for this device has been disabled. There is another driver that may be performing this functionality (code 32).
