My monitor vibrates

In the past couple of days, my screen would just start virbrating. Not long only a second or two. is it breaking or what? what should i do?

Is it a CRT display? Most CRTs vibrate while they degauss.

i'm not sure, but now it seems to be getting worse. it lasts longer and happens more frequently. it's more like it's twitching, like some kind of computer spasm. that's the only way i can describe it.

Sounds like the monitor may be on it's last legs (especially if it's an older CRT). Symptoms you describe sound like either an intermittent connection (maybe something as simple as the connection to the video card) or a flyback transformer getting ready to fail (something you don't want to mess with if it is a CRT). You might try reseating cables, cards, etc. If that doesn't help, it might be time for a new display...
