I have recently installed a sound card. (creative soundblaster live 24 -bit) I can't get the mic too work properly, i have to practically blow hard into the mic to get even a little bit of sound waves in sound recorder. here are my settings

(i've tried raising the mic bar in volume control obviously)

Did you check both the playback and 'Recording' volume controls?

Yes i've tried messing it seems with every possible setting. Only when i literaly blow into the mic does it respond. I wonder if there are any programs that would let me change the sensitivity of the mic just like the option in ventrilo.

I've never seen a Soundblaster card with it, but there are a few sound cards that require a 'powered' microphone. I don't think that's your problem, but check the documentation, just in case.
