Did you mean the external drive is not recognized, or the sims game?

If you had the Sims game installed on the external drive you may need to re-install the game. There are files missing on the internal hard drive that need to be replaced.

Using the terms netbook and laptop interchangeably can confuse the issue. A netbook had no optical drive whereas a laptop is full featured.
