Specs: Windows Vista
I have a Acer laptop that runs on Vista. A few weeks ago, i went to boot it up and as it starts to power up, it will immediatly shut down, and begin to try to power up again, continuosly until the battery dies, or it is unpluged. I have tried multiple different methods durring attemped startup, such as repeatidly tapping delete or F8. Can anybody out there lead me in the right direction?

Most likely malfunctioning hardware, or heat if it shuts off immediately say within 10 seconds of turning it on.

My guess is overheating. When's the last time you cleared out the cooling vents? Remove any visible debris (lint, hair, dust, etc) then give a good blast with a can of compressed air.
