OK this is an add on to a post I posted a while back, about my camcorder, that I still have yet to get connected to the PC. I have the firewire card plugged in to a PCI slot, but when trying to detect it from the JLIP video producer and capture, I have to choose from a COM port, how do I know what COM port it is, or how to I choose a PCI slot?

A COM port is serial port. Are you sure that your camcorder connects to a firewire port? It sounds like it wants to connect to a serial port. The serial ports are the 9 or 25 pin connectors.

By the way, serial ports are very, very, very slow. I sure hope it `can' connect to a firewire port.
It sure seems to be a serial port that you want. See a writeup at: http://www.jvc.com.sg/Download/Docs/vcp_en.pdf . (Right click and use Save Target As.)
